SOWING SEEDS OF SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS

Virtual Conference | 17–19 July 2025

About the Event

Join us in reflecting on the impact of Caribbean Women for Climate Justice 2025 (CW4CJ). CW4CJ has championed gender-responsive climate action since 2022. The 2025 edition of CW4CJ conference combined digital storytelling, policy advocacy, and grassroots action, to highlight the theme “Sowing Seeds of Sustainable Solutions.”

This year’s convening centered voices from the Global South, exploring disaster risk management, Indigenous leadership, youth action, food sovereignty, and inclusive, community-led adaptation across frontline nations. CW4CJ 2025 showcased how women are shaping just and resilient futures.

From high-energy live case studies and panel discussion, to a hands-on workshop, CW4CJ 2025 cultivated a space where advocacy meets action.

Key Highlights

Social Media
Awareness

Through real-time engagement and post-session reflections, the CW4CJ 2025 social media campaign successfully amplified the voices of women climate leaders across the Caribbean and Global South. The vibrant, relevant digital storytelling created a virtual ripple effect with audiences reposting our content to their platforms, bringing greater visibility to grassroots stories and sustainable solutions.

Cross-Regional Knowledge Sharing

Sessions like “Dimensions of Resilience” and “Power in Her Hands” featured lived experiences from Kenya, Guyana, Dominica, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and more. The virtual platform became a meeting ground for diverse perspectives, highlighting how shared struggles can lead to shared strategies in climate resilience and gender equity.

Capacity-Building Workshop

The “Show Me the Money” grant writing workshop was a standout moment giving participants practical guidance on securing grant funding for climate action projects. Attendees walked away with actionable insights on proposal development, gender-based analysis (GBA) and funding strategies for projects, budget structuring, resource mapping, and impact measurement to advance their climate initiatives. Participants also walked away with The Kainos Grant Readiness Scorecard, a self-diagnostic tool designed to help nonprofit organisations assess their internal capacity and preparedness for successful grant-seeking.
